. The New Play Exchange
For $10, playwrights can upload their plays and make them available to producers, agents, and theaters in search of new works. While it's one more shot in the dark, the more shots in the dark the more chance there is to reach the stars, right?
I found out about it on...
The Official Playwrights of Facebook.
For those playwrights who are also Facebookies, this is a great place to connect, as there are over 7,500 (!) playwrights and enthusiasts on board there. If nothing more, it's a reality check about the sheer number of us out there. But it also gives you an opportunity to share and to hear about opportunities you might not have heard about elsewhere.
Also on OPOF, I found this great opportunity for people looking to give and receive playwriting feedback on short works...
Trade A Play Tuesdays.
It's facilitated by a nationally known playwright, Donna Hoke, who takes her time pairing up playwrights with other playwrights who send in their short plays (10 minutes or less) by Tuesday early AM. Try it out... It's helped me make sense of that senseless muck we sometimes see in front of us.
Here's to coming back. I hope I can stick to it.
